Over much of the Pacific,εNd(0) values fall between −2.5 and −5.0, similar to values for Nd presently dissolved at mid-depth in the Pacific. Deposits forming within the realm of Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) are distinctly less radiogenic (εNd(0) = −6.0 to −7.5) and appear to have sampled Nd both from ambient AABW (εNd(0) = −8.5) and from higher in the water column (εNd(0) = +0.3 to −4.5). Samples drilled from 50 to 65 mm within one crust are chemically and isotopically distinct from surface layers of the same crust. The isotope values suggest that the mid-depth Pacific may have previously exhibited a less radiogenic Nd isotope signal than that presently observed." @default.
