- W2017802142 abstract "Ion-atom collisions with two active electrons are studied with the formalism of coupled channels by using travelling atomic orbitals and the semiclassical approximation. The atomic orbitals are expanded in Gauss-type orbitals (GTO), which allow an analytical evaluation of all matrix elements necessary. It is shown that different atomic bound states can be well represented with the same set of GTO. The use of GTO also leads to pseudostates, which are used to describe ionisation processes. The method is applied to the (He-He)2+ scattering system. Cross sections for single and double capture and single ionisation in He2++He collisions and for capture and ionisation in He++He+ collisions are calculated in the energy range of Elab from 8 to 400 keV. They agree well with experimental data." @default.
