- W2018170780 abstract "Investigations on egg proteins of Dermestes frischi during oogenesis and cleavage stages show that most fractions are already detectable in the young oocyte. Only a few protein fractions occur just before the end of oogenesis. The uptake of proteins in the oocyte is correlated with a rapid increase of the protein quantity in the haemolymph. After oogenesis the protein level of the haemolymph drops significantly. In the course of early development marked alterations in the protein composition are already found in the first developmental stages. During intravitelline cleavage two new fractions occur in the middle portion of the protein pattern and with migration of the cleavage nuclei into cortical egg regions two more appear in the pattern. In region C of the pattern containing low molecular proteins the number of fractions increases continuously. Just prior to the formation of the preblastoderm two new fractions are to be found, and with the appearance of cell membranes in the blastoderm two other fractions complete the pattern in this area. After blastoderm formation three fractions of the middle portion of the pattern have disappeared. They have been observed only at intervals in certain developmental stages. The high molecular fractions of the yolk system persist during the whole course of development. But they undergo a permanent decrease, which can be analysed for the first time in the blastoderm stages. These egg proteins could serve as amino acid sources for germ development, since they contain lipid groups as well as carbohydrates. In comparison with investigations on other insect eggs it is obvious that changes in protein composition and a higher protein systhesis rate are correlated with essential physiological and morphological processes. In those insect eggs, which belong to the early differentiating type, the onset of distinct changes has been observed at the time of blastoderm formation. But in the regulative or late differentiating egg system the comparable processes were found at stages of germ band formation. In both egg types these biochemical processes seem to be linked directly with membrane formation and determination, which finally leads to the metameric organization of the embryo." @default.
