The spectral sensitivity of the photodimerization reaction of the uracil thin layer caused by UV-radiation is similar to that of DNA dimerization reaction. Appropriate modification of the spectral sensitivity of the uracil thin layer, using different covering filters, makes it suitable for measuring the exposure dose of natural and artificial UV-sources as well. Sensitivity curves with different filters, cross calibration possibilities and transformation of the measured doses into other known biologically effective doses are presented." @default.
