- W2018586872 abstract "Abstract The electron absorption spectrum of Mn 2+ -doped NaF has been studied at 300°K and 80°K. The band positions have been fitted with four parameters B , C , Dq and α, fixing α at its free ion value (76 cm −1 ). A few bands observed in the ultraviolet region are identified with the simultaneous electronic excitation of a pair of Mn 2+ ions. The band positions are found to shift with change in temperature. Various factors causing these shifts are discussed. At 80°K the fine structure obtained shows a vibration progression which gives the fundamental optical mode of NaF crystal (271 cm − )." @default.
