An X-ray structure determination reveals two chemically identical molecules which differ in the bonding geometry of the metal centers in the asymmetric unit. Similarly, treatment of [ClTi{N(SiMe3)2}2(THF)] with fluorenyllithium gives the corresponding [(C13H9)Ti{N(SiMe3)2}2] (2). The crystallographically determined structure of 2 shows three independent molecules whose coordination spheres differ only slightly. The titanium(III) complexes 1 and 2 do not react with dinitrogen, carbon monoxide or with ethylene in the presence of methylalumoxane." @default.
