- W2018761769 abstract "In Brief Although decompressive surgery for unilateral radiculopathy remains one of the most predictably successful spinal operations, the benefi ts of using a tubular retractor approach versus a traditional midline approach continue to be debated. There is a paucity of objective data in the literature comparing patient outcomes following these two approaches. In the current study, we compare two cohorts of patients undergoing lumbar decompression using a traditional midline approach or a tubular retractor system using the Short Form-12, Oswestry Disability Index and a modifi ed visual analogue scale (VAS) for both back and leg pain. Our study suggests that both approaches achieve equivalently successful clinical results." @default.
