- W2018786615 abstract "AbstractAn optical compensator used for high speed camera is described. The method of compensation,the analysis of the imaging quality and the result of experiment are introduced.The compensator consists of pairs of parallel mirrors. It can perform perfect compensationeven at 1:1 shutter ratio. Using this compensator a high speed camera can be operated with noshutter and can obtain the same image sharpness as that of the intermittent camera. Theadvantages of this compensator are summarized as follows: . While compensating, the aberration correction of the objective would not be damaged. . There is no displacement and defocussing between the scanning image and the film in framecenter during compensation. Increasing the exposure angle doesn't reduce the resolvingpower . The compensator can also be used in the projector in place of the intermittent mechanismto practise continuous (non- intermittent) projection without shutter.IntroductionMost image compensators used in high speed cameras are of approximate compensation. Thatis to say, there are always some residual image displacement and defocussing left within thescanning frame. The shutter ratio can hardly exceed 1:1.5 unless the image quality is neglected.For low illuminated object it may be beneficial to have an optical compensator with a maximumshutter ratio of 1:1. The scheme to be described in this paper may serve the purpose.SystemAs shown in Fig.l. the key assembly is a rotor consisting of a circumferential series ofmirror pairs, the mirrors in each pair being parallel to each other and inclined at 450 to therotor's axis.
