- W2019088925 abstract "The irradiation, mechanical and fabrication properties of austenitic stainless steels (e.g. AISI 316) have been widely investigated for the application in nuclear technology. More advanced austenites with Ti and Nb additions should be taken into stronger consideration in near future fusion reactor concepts. They combine the advantages to offer an accumulated knowledge on fabricability together with high potential evolution of their microstructure. This is exemplified by a comparative study of 1.4970 and 316 type steel by high-temperature creep experiments and microstructural TEM investigations. Helium embrittlement effects are included in the study by using alpha implantation. It is shown that due to the high flexibility for modifying the microstructural, mechanical and irradiation behaviour, alloy properties can be custom tailored for various applications." @default.
