- W2019336873 abstract "Abstract One-photon laser excitation and fluorescence spectra have been recorded for the Eu 3+ ion diluted in single crystals of LuPO 4 . Analysis of these spectra resulted in the assignment of 23 energy levels of the 7 F J and 5 D J multiplets, which were fitted to the parameters of an empirical Hamiltonian with an rms deviation of 8.7 cm −1 . The intensities of the two-photon absorption transitions to the 5 D 0 and 5 D 2 multiplets have been investigated. The polarization dependences of transitions to all five of the crystal-field levels were measured and are compared with theoretical predictions. The intensity model included the third-order spin–orbit interaction. Good agreement was found for three of the five transitions observed. However, the polarization dependences of the other two did not agree with the predicted behavior, as they exhibited an additional isotropic component." @default.
