- W2019465706 abstract "The stability and microflotation of kraft lignin suspensions were investigated as a function of pH in the presence of Al(NO 3 ) 3 or hemoglobin. The entire “aluminum nitrate-pH” stability domains for 0.01- and 0.10-wt% lignin solutions were established. The floatability of lignin was compared with its stability in the same system. Efficient removal occurs only when aluminum hydroxide precipitates and interacts with lignin to produce unstable systems. Furthermore, the “lignin concentration-pH” stability and effective microflotation domains for a 0.05-wt% hemoglobin solution were determined. The maximum floatability of hemoglobin increases with the addition of lignin and reaches almost 100% around 0.01% lignin, but decreases somewhat at still higher lignin concentration. Foam separation of both components for a mixture is limited to the region of hemoglobin lignin precipitation, although the precipitate formation is not a sufficient condition for efficient microflotation." @default.
