- W2019854636 abstract "Analysis of Lower Cretaceous foraminifers of the Kostelec and Strážov Groups in the northwestern part of the West Carpathians in Slovakia points to sedimentation in a shallow-water environment, connected with partial emersion and denudation of the Klape sedimentation area. The Albian synsedimentary conglomerates of the Klape Group contain pebbles of Triassic rocks of Nedzov type. We interpret them as material coming from the Triassic of the so-called Nedzov nappe. The associations of foraminifers here re different from those of the Gemeride Triassic, deposited in the southern zones of the Central Carpathians where also the root zones of the Triassic of the so-called Nedzov and Strážov nappes are situated. The Triassic of the so-called Strážov and Nedzov nappes is interpreted by the author as mushroom-like nappes. Both nappes were squeezed out bivergently in the form of diapirs, which formed by the tearing apart of limbs of large mushroom-like folds. The Strážov nappe was squeezed out from the substratum of the Strážov palaeogeographical sedimentation area during the Laramide folding, and the Nedzov nappe from the substratum of the Klape palaeogeographical sedimentation area during the Savian folding." @default.
