- W2020032719 abstract "1. The allometric relationship between heating rate and body size of Anolis carolinensis was similar under both radiant heating and step transfer testing conditions. 2. Heating rates were consistently greater than cooling rates, and both rates increased markedly with humidity. 3. The lizards characteristically became darker (brown) during cooling and lighter (green) during heating. 4. Interspecific comparisons are made which illustrate the influence of convection on heating and cooling rates. 5. Lizards tend to heat more rapidly than they cool when tested in still air; however, the reverse may be true for small (< 13 g) lizards subjected to moderate convection. 6. Intraspecific data suggest similar but more variable allometric relationships and further emphasize the pronounced effect of body size on lizard heating and cooling rates." @default.
