- W2020109764 abstract "Abstract In accordance with Gulliksen it is stressed in this report that the problems of right versus wrong solutions and versus items skipped in cognitive tests, seem to be neglected areas in the psychological literature. The data presented here was collected on the Danish island of Samsoe, where all children aged 11 through 16, totaling 333, were tested with a preliminary version of a multiple choice Vocabulary test. The 50 items used were not arranged in order of difficulty. The three subscales: Σr, Σw and Σs were shown to be relatively independent from each other and to be highly consistent for persons as well as items. This must be considered a promising finding and the few earlier studies available seem to point to some inter-test generality of such phenomena. The findings might be identified as the test correlate of a psychological trait, such as “cautiousness versus recklessness”. The probable value of consciously distinguishing between rights, wrongs, and itemskippings for purposes of applied psychology and test construction is pointed out." @default.
