- W2020156310 abstract "Abstract α-Crystallin has been isolated from the soluble lens of bovine adults, calves and 1-month and 4–5-month embryos, by a method which utilizes starch block electrophoresis and Sephadex G-200 gel filtration procedures. The α-crystallins prepared in this manner behaved identically in the gel diffusion experiments; however, the quantitative complement fixation test indicated that adult and calf α-crystallins appeared to be identical while embryonic α-crystallins were somewhat different, when rabbit antisera specific for adult and embryonic α-crystallins were used. Thus, embryonic α-crystallin differed immunologically from adult and calf α-crystallins, although the amino acid compositions of these proteins were similar." @default.
