OH concentrations were measured independently in a variety of flames by a method involving the reduction in the amount of fluorescence from trace amounts of sodium when HCl was present in the flame. This allowed relative quenching rates for H2O, H2, and CO to be determined as 1.0 : 0.32±0.10 : 1.3±0.2, and hence concentrations to be derived from unsaturated fluorescence in most rich flames." @default.
