- W2020685663 abstract "The conventional states used to describe the scattering of particles with spin are the covariant states and the Wigner states. In this paper we describe the scattering of massive particles in terms of Mackey states, which are analogous to the states used by Mackey in his induced theory of group representations, and whose advantage is that their Lorentz-transformation law does not involve the spin indices explicity. The description with Mackey states follows the pattern of the description in the well-known papers of Jacob and Wick and of Trueman and Wick and covers in particular partial-wave analyses, discrete symmetries and crossing. We hope that the usefulness and elegance of the Mackey states will become evident in the course of the discussion." @default.
