- W2021034794 abstract "Photoionization spectra of an Sm atom are carried out with a stepwise photoexcitation approach. The high-lying states with even parity have been populated with two different excitation paths via 4f66s6p[7D2] and 4f66s6p[5G3] intermediate states, respectively. The corresponding settings are as follows: (a) the wavelength of the first laser is fixed at 464.67 nm, while the wavelength of the second laser is scanned from 484 nm to 520 nm; (b) the wavelength of the first laser is fixed at 574.81 nm, while the wavelength of the second laser is scanned from 460 nm to 516 nm. Having been populated in the high-lying states, the Sm atoms are then probed by the photoionization process. In this experiment, 74 states in the energy region between 41 061 and 42 478 cm−1, and 109 states in the energy region between 37 588 and 39 927 cm−1 have been detected, providing information about level energies and the relative line intensities of these transitions. Some of the observed transitions can be identified with the same states in the literature, while 34 states are not to be found in the literature. In addition, much effort has also been devoted to the designation of observed spectral lines." @default.
