- W2021217647 abstract "The time-resolved two-photon photoemission process in the $mathrm{Cs}∕mathrm{Cu}(111)$ system is studied within a wave packet propagation approach that enables one to take into account the effect of the Cs adsorbate motion during the process. The Cs motion with respect to the surface induced by the absorption of the first photon is seen to deeply influence the dynamics of the two-photon process. In particular, we show that it induces both a fast decrease of the observed photoemission signal when the time delay between the two photons increases and a pure dephasing process in the excited state dynamics. We can thus specify the origin of the dephasing process observed in this system, which up to now has been attributed in a phenomenological way to interactions with the substrate heat bath. The present results are compared with available experimental data: dependence of the energy spectrum of emitted electrons on the time delay between the two laser pulses, time dependence of the photoemission signal, and laser bandwidth dependence of the photoemitted signal." @default.
