- W2022003313 abstract "Abstract Flurbiprofen, sudoxicam, piroxicam and indomethacin were each administered subcutaneously to rats to determine their effect on the duration of the interoestrous interval of pseudopregnant and cyclic animals. Each of the four compounds prolonged the interoestrous interval in pseudopregnant animals, but had little effect on subsequent oestrous cycle length. Flurbiprofen, sudoxicam and piroxicam each appeared to be more consistent than indomethacin in prolonging the interoestrous interval in pseudopregnant rats to a duration equal to, or greater than, the duration of pregnancy. The former three compounds also appeared to be less toxic than indomethacin. These results are interpreted to mean that all four compounds prolonged the functional life span of the corpus luteum in the rat and, consequently, are potential agents for synchronizing oestrus and mating in domestic animals." @default.
