- W2022062964 abstract "The microscopic anatomy of the hypothalamic neurosecretory centers and neurohypophysis, and the topographic arrangement of the neurosecretory pathways of sterile and fertile platyfishes have been investigated. In the cells of preoptic nuclei, pars magnocellularis, high secretory activity is observed in sterile fishes. At the same time the neurohypophysis is heavily laden with neurosecretion. The concept of production of neurosecretory material beginning in the cell nucleus is postulated. The topographic arrangement of the cells of the nuclei lateralis tuberis is described. Its cells appear inactive in sterile fishes. The possible basis for their sterility is discussed from the point of view of a hypothalamic stimulating effect on the hypophyseal gonadotropic mechanism." @default.
