Under academic supervision of YAYAT HIDAYAT and KUKUH MURTILAKSONO. Infiltration is an important information as input for land utilization plan, particularly of those related with agriculture. Characteristics of water infiltration into the soil within an area, will inherently indicate the soil ability to let water pass through, or the soil hydraulic conductivity. The objectives of research were learning the characteristics of infiltration and soil hydraulic conductivity in Sub Watershed Ciliwung Hulu and analyzing the infiltration characteristics by using Horton, Kostiakov and Philips equation. Research was conducted from April through October 2004. Location of the research was Sub Watershed of Ciliwung Hulu, which administratively belonged to the territory of Tugu Utara village, Cisarua sub district, Bogor regency and comprised area of ± 167 ha. Infiltration measurement was conducted by using double ring infiltrometer, whereas that for soil hydraulic conductivity by simple permeameter. Highest infiltration rate in Sub Watershed of Ciliwung Hulu, ranged between 6 until 360 cm/hour. Constant infiltration rate ranged between 3 until 36 cm/hour, with average value of constant infiltration rate as much as 11 cm/hour, while on the basis of Kohnke (1968) it was classed as somewhat rapid. Saturated hydraulic conductivity of soil in Sub Watershed of Ciliwung Hulu was classed as moderate, with value of saturated hydraulic conductivity as much as 2.79 cm/hour. Constant infiltration rate in Entisol was classed as rapid (13.5 cm/hour), whereas that in Inceptisol infiltration was classed as somewhat rapid (8.2 cm/hour). Saturated hydraulic conductivity in each land of soil classed as moderate, but Entisol has saturated hydraulic conductivity which was higher (2.97 cm/hour) as compared to that of Inceptisol (2.62 cm/hour). Constant infiltration rate in forest land was greater (16.5 cm/hour) than that in tea plantation (5.6 cm/hour). Constant infiltration rate in forest land was classed as rapid, whereas constant infiltration rate in tea plantation included was categorized as moderate. Value of saturated hydraulic conductivity of forest land was classed as high, whitch value of 3.6 cm/hour. On the other land, saturated hydraulic conductivity in tea plantation land lower (2.0 cm/hour) and was classed as moderate. Horton infiltration model had closer correlation with result of field measurement, with determination coefficient (R) of 0.82.
