The commentary by Dr. Black implied, however, that the neurologic abnormalities associated with vitamin E deficiency were limited to children. On the contrary, recent reports have described adults with various chronic malabsorption conditions who have developed biochemical and clinical evidence of the vitamin E deficiency neurologic syndrome.
