- W2022189813 abstract "The microsurgical transplantation of lymphatic vessels is used to bridge local lymphatic blocks which provoke a lymphoedema. In general end-to-end anastomoses are performed, but sometimes the appropriate draining recipient vessels are too short. Alternatively microvascular anastomoses may be performed to lymph nodes. This procedure enables the connection of transplant vessels without disruption of the recipient lymph stream. Additionally, transplant vessels of any diameter could be sutured to incisions of adequate size in the capsule of the lymph node. Materials and Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley-rats were anaesthetized and the left truncus lumbaris was cut proximally and turned over to the right lumbal lymph nodes. It was anastomosed by a single stitch technique. After a healing period of several weeks the situs was re-explored and the function of the transposed truncus was examined by intranodular injection of patent blue dye into the left lumbar lymph node located up-stream. Results: We found patent transposed lymph vessels stained with patent blue and a further draining off through the right retroperitoneal lymph vessels. The patent blue staining thus demonstrated the passage of lymph through lympho-lymphonodular anastomoses." @default.
