- W2022196680 abstract "The most effective procedure for iodination of antibodies with respect to retention of immunoreactivity involves the use of antibodies bound to an immunoadsorbent of the relevant antigen (Miles & Hales, 1968). Further improvement of immunoreactivity was expected by the use of lactoperoxidase for iodination. Anti-carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) antibodies adsorbed to Sepharose-coupled crude CEA were labelled by the chloramine T method and the lactoperoxidase method. The immuno-reactivity of both preparations as well as of control preparations labelled in homogeneous solution was tested in a solid phase sandwich radioimmunoassay (RIA) for CEA. The iodination of immunoadsorbed antibodies proved to be clearly superior to iodination in homogeneous solution. Additional improvement in immunoreactivity was achieved by enzymatic iodination. This was manifested by a small but consistent increase in the relative binding of labelled antibodies to high amounts (160 ng/ml) of CEA." @default.
