- W2022206277 abstract "Reconnections across ablation lines often result in recurrent macro-reentrant atrial tachyarrhythmias. We examined the incidence and clinical impact of mitral isthmus line (MIL) reconnections in patients returning for a second procedure (redo) after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). Methods: 220 consecutivepatientswith atrial fibrillation (AF) underwent PVI ablation. MIL ablation was randomly assigned to 52/98 patients. We studied all 98 patients who underwent a redo for recurrent AF (42%), atrial flutter (40%) and both (18%). Results:MILwasconfirmed intact initially in28/52 (54%) pts. At redo, 8/28 (29%) MIL had reconnected, and 3/8 (38%) had inducible mitral annular (MA) flutter.
