This method enables the fabrication of arrays of nanoparticles capped with protecting ligand on the resulting Au nano-patterns. In particular we succeeded in the formation of nano reaction field of one Au nanoparticle capped with 3,6-dioxa-1,8-octanedithiol on a less than 100 nm dot. This nano reaction field can be used in order to observe single biomolecule such as DNA, peptides, nucleic acids, proteins and cell." @default.
