- W2022553531 abstract "Band-structure calculations are performed in the framework of an extended Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model. Besides the intramolecular electron transfer, we introduce the ensuremath{pi}-electron hopping between the nearest-neighbor molecules in a crystal. The band structures of solid ${mathrm{K}}_{mathit{x}}$${mathrm{C}}_{60}$ (x=1,2,3,4) and the cooperative Jahn-Teller distortions of ${mathrm{C}}_{60}$ molecules are calculated self-consistently. According to our results, ${mathrm{K}}_{2}$${mathrm{C}}_{60}$ and ${mathrm{K}}_{4}$${mathrm{C}}_{60}$ appear to be semiconducting with a small Jahn-Teller gap at the Fermi level. The shifts of Fermi level depend nonmonotonically on x, and the conduction bandwidth changes strongly upon doping." @default.
