- W2022650750 abstract "Abstract Bundles of vertically grown multi‐walled carbon nanotubes were deposited on thin cobalt catalyst layers and heterogeneous WC–Co hard metal surfaces. Two different structures were detected for these layers (tubular and bamboo‐like structures), which are related to the size of the catalyst particles formed and the temperature during the process. Furthermore, free‐standing carbon nanotubes were obtained on WC–Co hard metal surfaces with a reduced Co content. Field emission measurements yielded better results for the bundle‐like carbon nanotube layers. After repeated tests, degradation of the layers was observed.
