Integrating dense mixed-conducting membranes (MCMs) into power cycles with CO2 capture has been considered as the most advanced technology for high efficiency and clean power production. This paper presents an update of MCMs development efforts, including the recent progress in membrane materials and their chemical resistance; the membrane architecture especially the tubular asymmetric membranes and hollow fiber membranes; and the pilot-scale planar and membrane modules. The oxyfuel technique using MCMs for oxygen production and its commercial prospects are discussed. Finally, current challenges related to the industrialization of MCMs are addressed and possible future research is also outlined." @default.
