- W2022686466 abstract "ABSTRACT This paper describes the different problems in process control at the level of the in terface between the operator and the supervisory devices. We emphasize graphic man-machine communication and evaluation of graphic presentation of information, which seem very de terminant for us. The aim is to use the results of this evaluation to fill out bases of SYNOP, an expert system, based on a first-order logic inference engine, for the ergonomic conception of industrial control views. 1. INTRODUCTION During the last twenty years, the role of the human operator has significantly evolued in process control : from machines manual piloting to plant-computer systems supervising, the operator had being slowly disconnected from the physical reality of the process, to now interact with it through sophisticated interfaces. At present these interfaces, which most of the time consist in the graphic presentation of static and dynamic informations on V.D.U., became the key problem in process control. It could be interesting to design an expert system, for the conception of control images, which knowledge bases will be consti tuted by ergonomic rules on graphic presentation of informations and results obtained by a methodology of evaluation of these presentations. This methodology and expert system have been developed and are presented here." @default.
