- W2022771017 abstract "A cement kiln is a counter-flow type of process in which a complex series of exothermic and endothermic reactions take place. To understand its behavior and to provide a means of improving computer control, a dynamic partial differential model of the kiln has been developed. In this paper, the basic reactions and assumptions of the model will be discussed. A model of a coal/oil flame which takes into account the surrounding temperatures is developed. The dynamic behavior of the kiln as exhibited by this model is then indicated. In particular, it is shown that the interaction between the two exothermic reactions causes the kiln to be basically unstable with respect to regulating the position of the burning zone. Un four à ciment est un type de procèdé à contrecourant dans lequel a lieu une série complexe de réactions exothermiques et endothermiques. Un modèle dynamique, à dérivées partielles, du four a été établie à fin de comprendre son comportement et fournir un moyen d'améliorer la commande par calculateur. Dans le présent article, les réactions et les hypothèses fondamentales du modèle seront discutées. Un modèle d'une flamme charbon/mazout tenant compte des températures ambiantes est établi. Le comportement dynamıque du four illustré par ce modèle est ensuite indiqué. Il est montré, en particulier, que l'interaction entre les deux réactıons exothermiques conduit le four à être instable en ce qui concerne le règlage de la position de la zône de combustion. Ein Zementofen stellt einen Prozeß vom Gegenflußtyp dar, in dem eine komplexe Folge von exothermen und endothermen Reaktionen stattfindet. Um sein Verhalten zu verstehen, und Mittel zur Verbesserung der Steuerung durch Rechner zu finden, wurde unter Benutzung partieller Differentialgleichungen ein dynamisches Modell des Ofens entwickelt. Die Hauptreaktion und -Annahme des Modells werden erörtert. Ein Modell einer Kohle-Öl-Flamme, die die Umgebungstemperaturen in Rechnung zieht, wird entwickelt. Das dynamische Verhalten des Ofens, wie es durch dieses Modell dargelegt ist, wird dann angegeben. Speziell wird gezeigt, daß die Wechselwirkung zwischen den zwei exothermen Reaktionen verursacht, daß der Ofen im Hinblick auf die Regelung der Lage der Brennzone grundsätzlich instabli ist.
