Peptide Synthesis in the Aqueous Phase, II1). — (Trimethylsilyl)serine- and (Trimethylsilyl)- threonine-N-carboxyanhydride In the presence of the catalyst trimethylchlorosilane, the amino acids L-serine (1a) and L-threonine (1b) are readily transformed by hexamethyldisilazane into the respective trimethylsilylamino acids 2a and 2b + 2c. With stoichiometric amounts of phosgene in tetrahydrofuran, the N-carboxyanhydrides 3 and 4, protected at their alcoholic OH groups by trimethylsilyl groups, are formed. The protecting trimethylsilyl group is simultaneously removed by hydrolytic cleavage during the N-carboxyanhydride synthesis of the peptides Ser-Gly (5) or Thr-Leu (6) with glycine or leucine at pH 10.2." @default.
