Chromoendoscopy dyes include indigo carmine, methylene blue, Lugol's iodine and acetic acid, while advanced-imaging technologies include narrow-band imaging, flexible spectral imaging colour enhancement, i-Scan and autofluorescence imaging. The primary aim of chromoendoscopy and advanced imaging is to improve detection and characterisation of lesions during gastrointestinal endoscopy. In this paper, Peter Basford, Anna Benton, Tracie Jarvis and Pradeep Bhandari give an overview of the more commonly used techniques in endoscopy, together with the indications and evidence for their use." @default.
