- W2022996608 abstract "Increasing use is being made of micromethods for enzymic analysis in both routine and research clinical biochemistry laboratories. These techniques frequently involve the use of fluorimetric techniques but currently fully automated enzyme analysers capable of using fluorimetric substrates are not available. Work in this laboratory has used enzyme assay techniques, frequently in combination with subcellular fractionation procedures, to investigate organelle pathology in a wide variety of tissue disorders [1,2]. In these studies several marker enzymes are assayed in upwards of 15 gradient fractions making a total number of assays per tissue sample of approximately 250. Thus assay procedures are a major limitation in this type of work. Automated analysis is achieved by combining a discrete sample analyser with a fluorimeter incorporating the necessary interface and programmable calculator. Detailed analytical methods are listed and examples of enzyme distributions are given comparing results by automated and manual methods." @default.
