(3) More than a thirty-fold increase of the arylsulphatase was found in the urine of patients with myeloid leukaemias. (4) There was only a slight increase of the enzyme activity in cases of Hodgkin's disease. (5) A very marked increase of arylsulphatase activity was found in the urine of neoplastic patients in general and in the urine from cases of disease of the genitourinary tract. (6) A slight increase of the urinary arylsulphatase activity was noted in cases of heart diseases, liver diseases, gout and other diseases. (7) It seems probable that the increased amount of arylsulphatase appearing in some pathological urines is an excretory product arising from a neoplasm or an inflamed organ. (8) The diagnostic and prognostic value of arylsulphatase estimation in urine is discussed. (9) Increased levels of arylsulphatase are found in the urine of patients after surgical operations. 1. L'activité de l'arylsulfatase a été examinee dans environ 400 échantillons d'urine pathologique et normale. 2. L'urine provenant d'individus sains contenait seulement de faibles quantités d'arylsulfatase. 3. On trouva trente fois plus d'arylsulfatase dans l'urine d'individus atteints de leucémies myéloides. 4. Il y avait seulement une légère augmentation de l'activité enzymatique dans les cas de maladie de Hodgkin. 5. On remarqua une augmentation prononcée de l'activité de l'arylsulfatase dans l'urine des cancéreux en général et des individus ayant une maladie des voies génitourinaires. 6. On nota une légère augmentation de l'activité de l'arylsulfatase urinaire dans les cas de maladies de cœur, de foie, de goutte et autres maladies. 7. Il semble probable que l'augmentation de la quantité d'arylsulfatase de certaines urines pathologiques soit le résultat d'une excrétion causée par un néoplasme ou un organe enflammé. 8. La valeur, pour le diagnostic et le pronostic, de l'estimation de l'arylsulfatase de l'urine fait l'object d'une discussion. 9. On constata que les interventions chirurgicales étaient suivies d'une augmentation du niveau d'arylsulfatase de l'urine des opérés. 1. Es besteht die Möglichkeit, daβ die mengenmäßige Zunahme der Arylsulfatase — wie sie sich in einigen pathologischen Harnen offenbart — an die Aussehei dungs-Tätigkeit eines Neoplasms oder eines entzündeten Organs zuzuschreiben ist. 8. Der diagnostische sowie prognostische Wert der Arylsulfatasebestimmung im Urin wird diskutiert. 9.
