- W2023062913 abstract "Abstract We have investigated the magnetic properties of the ternary compound NpOS by means of magnetic susceptibility, Mossbauer effect and neutron diffraction measurements. The inverse susceptibility versus temperature curve 1/ χ ( T ) shows a rounded minimum around 8 K. Above 60 K, 1/ χ ( T ) displays a curvature towards the T avis. The isomer shift of the Mossbauer spectra (−5.2 mm s −1 with respect to NpAl 2 ) suggests an Np 4+ valency while a magnetic hyperfine pattern appears below T N ≈ 5 K. At T ≈ 2 K, the hyperfine field (154 T) corresponds to a magnetic moment of 0.8 μ B (Np atom) −1 . A neutron diffraction pattern obtained at 2.7 K using a multidetector diffractometer shows only one evtra line corresponding to an indevation (1,0,0.38) while none is detected at 2.2 K in the range (1,0,0.21) to (1,0,0.53) on a spectrum obtained using a triple-avis spectrometer." @default.
