- W2023203127 abstract "When mature rats were dosed with 50 ppm fluoride in drinking water, the amount of enamel matrix protein synthesized was depressed, and the composition of the protein was altered. The amino acids present in the hydrolysates were divided into various groupings and multivariate statistical analysis was used to explore the contributions made by these groupings and their component amino acids to, firstly, the overall variation and, secondly, the change brought about by fluoride. Fluoride significantly increased the group of amino acids with charged polar R groups and significantly decreased the proportion of hydrophobic amino acids. Proline and especially histidine made a substantial contribution to the overall variation, but no amino acid stood out as being a major contributor to the changes resulting from fluoride treatment." @default.
