- W2023229629 abstract "Tectonic, lithostratigraphic and geochronological data indicate 350 km of Late Proterozoic left-lateral displacement of the northwest-trending Najd Fault System along the present line of the Red Sea. A reconstruction made by shifting Arabia and Sinai southwards results in good continuity of lithostratigraphic and geochronologically isochronous mega-units from the Eastern Desert of Egypt through Sinai and into Midyan. Southward, good continuity is also observed across the Red Sea of ophiolitic-suture zones. This late tectonic evolutionary episode in the Arabian-Nubian Shield took place in two, possibly related and overlapping principal phases: (a) deformation along the Najd Fault System (ca. 640-600 M.a.), and (b) Red Sea transcurrent (sinistral) faulting (ca. 610-580 M.a.)." @default.
