- W2023281968 abstract "A careful search of the literature reveals the fact that only fifty odd cases of peritonitis during the course of typhoid fever without intestinal perforation have been thus far reported. All were in adults except one, which was reported by Wilson, 1 in 1886. His patient was a child, aged 12 years. No reports of the occurrence of this condition in infants having been found, we believe it to be of interest to report the clinical course of such a case. REPORT OF CASE B. H., Jewish, aged 16 months, was first seen on Oct. 5, 1924, in consultation with the family physician, and the following history was obtained. The child first became ill on September 28, with vomiting, loss of appetite and a sudden elevation of temperature to 104 F.
