The following data were elicited: The patient's mother's mother died from cancer of uterus. Parents were alive; mother healthy; father had had intestinal trouble for a long time. There were six girls in the family; one died from insolation. There was no tuberculous history. Menses began at 13; painless and regular. The patient had always enjoyed good health until the summer of 1905, at which time her present illness began.
