It is shown that there is strong coupling between the orthogonal velocity components, the volumetric flowrate and the angular velocity. Reversing radial and tangential flows are predicted, particularly in the entry region, which agrees with laser-Doppler measurements previously reported. Outside the entry region (r/a⪆25) there is good agreement between experimental and theoretical profiles, which approach the predictions of first order theory within 15% for reasonable flowrates, making design studies of the electrolyser simple." @default.
