- W2023497339 abstract "In this paper, we develop a master equation approach to treat laser-stimulated desorption. We then apply this approach to study the effect of IR laser intensity and frequency on the yield of laser-stimulated desorption. We find that the dependence of the desorption yield on laser intensity and frequency are sensitive to the number of photons required to initiate the desorption. As the number of photons required increases, the yield decreases and the yield versus laser-frequency curve sharpens compared to the IR absorption of the adsorbed species. In particular, we conclude that the available experimental data on the CO2-laser-stimulated desorption of pyridine from a Ag surface is consistent with that being a two-photon process." @default.
