- W2023556975 abstract "Introduction Oil production from diatom has been discovered as effective energy sources as it could be stimulated up to 200 times oil per hectare higher than seed oils [1, 2]. More importantly, diatoms have been also shown to be environmental friendly as it consumes upon pollution induced matters [3]. The factor which play major role in environmental contamination including CO2emission from industrial, nitrogen/phosphorous from fertilizers could be used as a potent activator for lipids production in microalgae [4]. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility of Raman spectroscopy to study the effect of excess and poverty of CO2 in live marine diatoms in comparison with gas chromatography. We especially focus into compositional changes of fatty chain in triacylglycerol. The fat composition of each single cell was analysed quantitatively. Moreover, wide variation among the data of single cells were also observed. Most diatoms cultured under the CO2condition produce palmitic acid (PA) chain most. In contrast, some diatoms cultured under the CO2+ condition produce palmitoleic acid (PoA) chain more than PA chain. The present results exhibit the consistency between Raman and gas chromatography result as a promising method for the study of fat production in the marine diatoms." @default.
