- W2023607219 abstract "By means of implanted multielectrode leads, responses to clicks were recorded from the brains of human patients. These responses did not seem to be confined to the posterior part of the superior temporal gyrus, but were located in a wider region including the insular cortex and immediate vicinity. Complex responses were evoked by single clicks or repetitive clicks of low rate (up to 3 per sec.). Increasing the rate of stimulations resulted in changes of the responses. For a rate of 15 clicks per sec. or more, a sequence of three events was noted: an “on-response”, a “driving response”, and and“off-response”. The amplitude of the driving response declined rapidly with increase in the rate of the clicks, and was rather inconspicuous at rates of 100 or more per sec. These responses, as well as their variations with binaural and monaural stimulation, and the effects on them of coma and anesthesia, have been correlated with previous psychologic, clinical, and physiologic findings. “On”-Effekt; 2. Treibeffekt (driving response); 3. “Off”-Effekt. @default.
