The measurements were made by using a pulse-echo-overlap technique at 3 MHz. A rational approximant fits the data with a standard deviation of 0.45 m s−1. Because the speed of sound depends on the molar volume and the adiabatic compressibility, these data may be used with density and heat capacity data to construct accurate thermodynamic property tables. On a mesuré la vitesse du son dans le R134a liquide (1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroéthane), le long des isothermes, à des températures allant d'une valeur avoisinant le point triple à des températures supérieures à la température critique (180–380K), pour une plage de pressions allant de valeurs proches de la saturation jusqu'à une valeur de 70 mégapascals. Les mesures ont été effectuées par une technique “chevauchement d'écho par pulsation” à 3 mégahert. Une approche rationnelle permet d'obtenir des données avec unécart moyen de 0,45 m/s. Si l'on souhaite établir des tableaux précis des propriétés thermodynamiques, il convient de traiter des données sur la densité et la capacité calorifique, parce que la vitesse du son dépend du volume molaire et de la compressibilité adiabatique." @default.
