Clinical deformity was assessed with the Bunnell scoliometer (angle of trunk rotation ATR) and surface topography (posterior trunk symmetry index POTSI and Hump Sum HS). Results. The ATR in the primary curvature was<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:msup><mml:mn>11.9</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo>±</mml:mo><mml:msup><mml:mn>3.4</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup></mml:math>(5 ° –18 ° ) in group 1 versus<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:msup><mml:mn>15.1</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo>±</mml:mo><mml:msup><mml:mn>5.6</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup></mml:math>(6 ° –25 ° ) in group 2 (<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:mi>P</mml:mi><mml:mo>=</mml:mo><mml:mn>0.027</mml:mn></mml:math>). The HS was<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:msup><mml:mn>16.8</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo>±</mml:mo><mml:mn>3.8</mml:mn></mml:math>versus<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:msup><mml:mn>19.2</mml:mn><mml:mo>°</mml:mo></mml:msup><mml:mo>±</mml:mo><mml:mn>4.6</mml:mn></mml:math>, respectively,<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML><mml:mi>P</mml:mi><mml:mo>=</mml:mo><mml:mn>0.07</mml:mn></mml:math>. The POTSI value did not differ between groups. Conclusion . Girls with Cobb angle above 45 degrees, who have been subjected to brace treatment, revealed smaller clinical deformity of their back comparing to nontreated girls having similar radiological curvatures." @default.
