Kinematic relations that ensure the adherence of fibers nodes to the continuum medium are used to introduce long and short fibers immersed in any positions of the laminate. The proposed formulation does not increase the number of degrees of freedom of the analyzed shell and do not require the necessity of matching nodes in the discretization of fibers and matrix. Following this procedure, it is possible to model spatially oriented or random fibers at any volume rate simplifying the reproduction of real problems. Some understanding examples are tested to demonstrate the good behavior of the proposed formulation and new applications that show its potential are presented." @default.
