- W2024144375 abstract "Abstract The gas phase isomerization of o-dichlorobenzene (odCB) was carried out at 643 K over different protonic zeolites as catalysts, i.e., HZSM5, HMOR, HOFF, HBETA. In each series of zeolites the aluminium content was varied over a wide range: silicon-to-aluminium ratio was between 4 and 50, except for HZSM5 (ratio was between 13 and 50). All the catalysts deactivate by formation of coke. The coke build up is not correlated with the activity of the solid, but depends on the nature of the zeolite. HZSM5 is the least selective for coke formation. HBETA is the most selective, but tolerates high coke amounts; this is attributed to its tridirectional network of pores. The order of stability of the zeolites is HZSM5>HBETA, HOFF> HMOR. Initial activities are directly correlated with the aluminium content and go through a maximum value for a silicon-to-aluminium ratio around ten. At these optimal aluminium contents the reactivity pattern is: HZSM5>HMOR>HBETA, HOFF. Generally, the isomerization of odCB over zeolites follows a consecutive reaction scheme: odCB > mdCB > pdCB. Therefore, whatever the zeolite, the selectivity depends essentially on the conversion level of odCB. When diffusional limitations occur, induced by coke deposit on HMOR, or large crystal size of the shape selective HZSM5, the yield of final product (pdCB) is enhanced." @default.
