- W2024148136 abstract "1. Sectioning of the olfactory tract of goldfish results in augmentation of the electrical response in the olfactory bulb evoked by chemical stimulation of the olfactory epithelium. 2. Furthermore, it alters the characteristics of potentials in the bulb evoked by single electrical stimuli applied to the olfactory epithelium. 3. Electrical stimuli applied to the opposite olfactory bulb, or to the anterior commissure depress both intrinsic and afferent-evoked electrical activity of the bulb. 4. Electrical stimuli applied to the homolateral telencephalon also affects olfactory bulbar activity in a complex way, dependent on stimulus frequency. 5. All of these results, in sum, indicate that olfactory bulbar responses to normal afferent stimuli can be modulated by influences from the other bulb and from more posterior parts of the brain." @default.
